1912 Rev. Roger Anderson, Who Conducted Burial at Sea Rites for Titanic Victims, Photograph (PSA Type I)

1912 Rev. Roger Anderson, Who Conducted Burial at Sea Rites for Titanic Victims, Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph of Rev. Roger Brooke Taney Anderson, who conducted an at-sea burial service for the victims of the RMS Titanic. Anderson was a first-class passenger on the S. S. Carpathia, which was the ship that rescued the Titanic survivors. Unfortunately, his spiritual services were needed following the loss of over 1,500 passengers on the Titanic. This photo captures him on board the Carpathia as a crew member walks behind him. Two Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with a handwritten identification that reads "Rev. Roger Anderson who conducted sea burial service." The photo (6.25x8") displays a tear in the upper left corner (paper loss) and a tiny separation of the photo paper and backing in the upper right corner that occurred during the encapsulation process. In Good condition overall. Culled from the Legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
