Lot 1556: 1952 Topps Five-Cent Wax Pack

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $2,000.00
Winning Bid: $4,992.13
Price Realized: $5,965.60
Auction Date:5/31/2002 9:00 PM EST

Here is a 1952 Topps five-cent wax pack fresh as the day it was issued. The pack is sealed tight, all four corners have perfect folds, and it still has its original gloss. Two of the corners show just the slightest wear. There are five cards in this pack along with a piece of gum that is fifty years old! These are very tough to find as most collectors who own them won't part with them for any price. The 1952 Topps pack is the holy grail of baseball packs. We are not positive of the series but I believe it is a low # pack. The cards that are possible from the low series are as follows: Andy Pafko (in a PSA 9 it would bring $50k+), Pete Runnels (rookie), Phil Rizzuto, Monte Irvin, Warren Spahn, Gil Hodges, Duke Snider, Robin Roberts, Enos Slaughter, Preacher Roe, etc. A fantastic example of this treasure.
