Roberto Clemente touched so many lives through his tremendous ball playing and humanitarian efforts, and it is easy to miss the very small moments that can play influentially in a young baseball fan’s life, as when on a so-called “Autograph Sunday” at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh in the early 1970’s, a boy gets an autograph from one of his Major League heroes, Mr. Clemente, on a 4 x 5 ½” black & white photo card (NRMT) carrying the batting champ’s likeness. A ballpoint blue signature rates 9/10, and comes with color snapshot of such a scenario - a boy standing before a table where a seated Clemente signs for his fans. A priceless memory, photographed and signed shortly before this legend’s untimely death.
