Reggie Sanders took a major spill in the outfield in game 2 of the Cardinals/Astros National League Championship of 2005. Coming into that game, the exceptional outfielder had been integral to St. Louis’ success up to that point, what with 12 RBI’s in post season and a series-inspiring home run in the first game. He returned in game 4, but the dye may have been caste, and, despite a heroic Pujols’ three-run homer in the 9th of game 5, the Cardinals would lose the series.
