Lot 1981: 1975-76 Bob Girard California Golden Seals Game Worn Jersey
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
The Frankenstein-like stitches running down the torn collar of Bob Girard's California Seals jersey are just the beginning of this old-time uniform's game-worn charm. These Seals had guts skating around in aqua and yellow. Maybe that's why Girard's white jersey isn't so white anymore. They are the stains of a franchise that struggled mightily. Lots of stick and puck marks. But the Seals live on in the hearts of NHL romantics. The Seals' funky script in teal runs across the chest. As a 26 year-old rookie in the 1975-76 season, Girard had 16 goals and 26 assists, and moved with the franchise to Cleveland the next season. He left behind a fabulous remnant of West Coast NHL hockey.
