Graig Nettles’ game hat from 1977 comes with the sweat that the Gold Glove third baseman put into helping the Yankees to the first of back-to-back World Series titles. His No. 9 is stenciled under the bill, and the navy wool shell has just enough wear to evoke memories of Nettles pounding long home runs to right field at Yankee Stadium and stealing base hits with diving stops. The white-stitched NY insignia on the front is in almost Opening Day condition save for a little Bronx dirt. One seam in back is partially frayed - emblematic of Nettles’ gritty play in a stellar Yankee season. Came from the Cleveland Indians Batboy.
