Lot 12: 1966 Rolling Stones Forest Hills Music Festival Flyer
Mint flyer billing the Stones' first-ever New York show at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium on July 2, 1966. By then the band had become a major attraction, and proved it when they made their entrance in the stadium by helicopter just behind the stage. The 7.5 x 15" flyer, which was put out by the Long Island Railroad and included train schedule information, touted that summer's Music Festival at the tennis venue, which on other dates featured Sammy Davis Jr., Andy Williams, the Supremes and Ray Charles.
