These classic nineteenth- century premiums were available only by mail in exchange for coupons issued with Old Judge tobacco products. These "giant versions" (4x6") of the classic small N172's are among the most highly regarded and substantial of all nineteenth-century issues. When these premiums were ordered by mail, the consumer actually chose the player to be received. Offered are three players from the Boston Beaneaters: Dick Conway (pitcher) - VG due to excessive corner rounding, otherwise EX with tremendous photo contrast; Dick Johnston (CF); and Bill Nash (3B).
