Description
Letter of condolence to his friend Erich Kauffmann sent on stationery of the Fairmont Hotel in San Franscisco. "Gee, your dear wife Hilda was a very nice dear lady," Louis wrote. "It shouldn't have happened to you. So take it easy and don't worry to much because you might make yourself sick." It concludes, "May the good Lord bless you and good night from your friends, Lucille and Louis Armstrong." EX, 21 x 31", written in blue pen, grade 9/10 signature. With original envelope.
