ITEM DESCRIPTION

If you were a Dodgers fan back in the 1940's and 1950's, you may remember the display cases that housed various bits of memorabilia to intrigue Bums fans. This is one of those pieces, a genuine game used baseball from a Civil War era game between "Enterprise" and "Eckford," won by the former by a score of 26 to 23. Date of the game was "Oct. 17th, 186-." Unfortunately, the final digit has been lost to the ravages of time, but the first three of the year are easily seen. It goes without saying that trophy balls from this era are all but impossible to find. LOA is from the gentleman who received the ball when the display cases were removed at Ebbets to make way for a new press box.
