Born William Martin Joel, May 9, 1949 in Hicksville, N.Y. he was inspired by seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show and he joins the ‘Echoes.’ Here is collection of paperwork, tests and documents pertaining to William's school work and records while attending school in Hicksville, N.Y. On June 15, 1966 Billy's mom, Rosalind, wrote (to the school), "There was never a musical show where Billy wasn't the star, comedy, pianist and director... Did you know Billy has extraordinary talent? For playing classical music, this is not my opinion alone." These letters to and from the school, along with reports, tests, student schedules, and even pages of Billy's idea associations mind test, are filled out in his own hand. How about such entries as "The best singer in popular music was 'Nat King Cole" and his likes included "good music, pretty girls and chinese food." Who knew? Billy is 16 years old and in 11th grade. Also included are two 8.5"x11" pages with drawings by Billy of his home and of a person. Many different sized pages, notes, Rorsach test and forms. A fascinating folder.
