Lot 505: Roger Clemens Lexington Legends Game Worn Cap
ITEM DESCRIPTION
When he embarked upon his comeback to the Major Leagues in 2006, Roger Clemens became a Legend. Again. The pit stop on Clemens' road back to the Houston Astros was a 62-pitch performance in his only start for the minor league Lexington Legends, based in Kentucky. This hat would be passed to Clemens' then-personal trainer, Brian McNamee, who became embroiled in the controversy over the star pitcher's alleged use of steroids. The New Era hat has a dark green crown with a black bill, the Legends' "L2" logo, and is size 7 3/8. There are no markings on the hat but it comes with a signed authentication from McNamee, along with a photo of him signing that letter. The hat is in NRMT condition.
