In the midst of their era of dominance, the 1978-79 Montreal Canadians earned the regular season conference title for the fourth straight time, and with it, the Prince of Wales trophy. The NHL presented this replica to Guy Lafleur, one of the all-time great Canadiens, for his part in this memorable season. Four towering sticks rise from the wood base to support a sliver plate cup with attached lid. A plaque on one side of the base reads, “HRH Prince of Wales Trophy - Guy Lafleur,” while the opposing side is inscribed “NHL Champions – Montreal Canadiens - 1978-79.” Comes with a letter of authenticity signed by Guy Lafleur, it has been replated and is in NRMT condition.
