Lot 383: 1950 Johnny Hopp New York Yankees World Championship Ring
ITEM DESCRIPTION
The 1950 Yankees swept the Whiz Kids Phillies in the World Series, and this handsome ring comes from the fingers of utility infielder-outfielder Johnny Hopp, who played just 19 games for the champs that season but batted a robust .333. The ring features a real diamond on the top, plus Dieges and Clust and 14 Karat stampings on the inside. "Johnny Hopp" is also engraved inside. The Yankees logo and 1950 are on both sides, and the wording: NEW YORK YANKEES WORLD CHAMPIONS on the face. Overall very nice and in EX-MT condition, it comes from the Barry Halper collection with a letter from Johnny Hopp, who stayed in the Bronx two more seasons as a utility player.
