Lot 808: 1768 William Williams Signed Document

This is a rare opportunity to own a document written and signed by an actual signer of the Declaration of Independence. William Williams was a Connecticut official and legislator, a member of the Continental Congress and assisted in framing the Articles of the Confederation. This document is written in Williams' hand and actually contains three of his signatures. It is a pay order from the "Colony of Connecticut to Mr. Williams" in the amount of "19 lb, 4 shillings, 6 pence for expences (sic) in laying out a highway, expenses to be charged to the Colony of Connecticut Dec 1768." It is in Very Good condition with mailing folds and measures 16x19" including ornate wooden frame. Writing and signatures rate 6.5/10.
