This wonderful photo of Christy Mathewson circa 1916 comes from Ferdie Schupp's scrapbook. The picture measures 6.5x6.5" and the corners are trimmed but otherwise the front of the photo is beautiful. Someone (not Mathewson) has written "C. Mathewson" in ink on the photo - while the writing resembles Matty's, it is not. There is an International News Service stamp on the back along with some scrap book remnants. In 1936, Mathewson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame as one of its "first five" inaugural members, in celebration of his outstanding 17-year career.
