The man who broke baseball's color barrier in 1947 - Jackie Robinson - was a true pioneer, and he's immortalized in this 20x24" charcoal-on-board original by Robert Stephen Simon. On the 50th anniversary of his major league debut, Robinson's uniform #42 was retired by Major League Baseball in a special ceremony at Shea Stadium.
