Lot 44: Mike Tyson's Fight Gloves - Trevor Berbick Match
UPDATE: The images showing in the catalog are incorrect and go with lot 47 - the images online are correct for this LOT
These are the fight-worn gloves used by "Iron" Mike Tyson to win his first heavyweight championship on November 22, 1986 in Las Vegas against then-champion Trevor Berbick. Tyson used these gloves to achieve his 26th knockout in 28 professional fights, battering Berbick into submission in the 2nd round. These gloves are red leather and have a manufacturer's label for Everlast at each wrist, and there are no laces. Both gloves are signed inside by James Jacobs, Tyson's manager, K. Rooney, Tyson's trainer, K. Bayless and are also marked Berbick to designate the fight. Comes with a letter of authenticity from Tyson's early assistant manager Steve Lott and a video of the fight showing Tyson using the gloves in the ring. One of the finest offerings of Mike Tyson memorabilia to come to public sale.
