Lot 663: Chicago Bears Patriotic WWII Stadium Flag Flown Aboard the USS Parle DE-708
This terrific cloth pennant flew for more than 20 years over Wrigley Field, where the Chicago Bears called home prior to taking up residence in Soldier Field in 1971. Three years prior, this 77x46" flag was presented to the USS Parle DE708 U.S. Navy ship, which was used to train reserves on the Great Lakes., The navy and orange Bears colors are particularly vibrant, and the World War II era stars add to its splendor. There are some small holes, rips and some fraying on the right edge, but is otherwise in EX condition. This one has both military and football history in its background, and you can't get more American than that! Comes with LOA.
