Lot 95: 1880 Champion Brand Apricots Crate with Full Lithograph Color Label

A beautiful artifact from the late 19th Century, this 16" x 9.5" x 6" crate is one of the earliest we have ever encountered! It appears to be the same age as the image, which depicts a baseball player holding a bat and the wording: "CHAMPION BRAND APRICOTS NORTH ONTARIO PACKING CO. CALIFORNIA." There's a chipped piece from the bottom and a couple of cracks but otherwise is in EX condition.
