There's nothing classier in sports than the Yankees' gray flannel road jerseys from yesteryear. This dandy was worn by Elston Howard when he coached the club in 1971. All original with "NEW YORK" on the front and "32" on the back. "Howard 44" is sewn on a strip tag in the collar, and there's a Spalding "71" year tag on the front tail. Shows moderate use, and is in fine condition. After having spent 13 seasons as Yankees catcher and left fielder, Howard served as first base coach for 11 more seasons in the Bronx (1969-79) and holds the distinction of being the first African-American player in franchise history.
