Worn proudly by a 20-year old Albert as a member of the Peoria Chiefs in his first All Star Game. This was his FIRST season in the minor leagues, in single A ball in the Midwest League. He would go on to win his first professional MVP that year. Hosted by the Kane County Cougars on June 20, 2000 at Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva, Illinois. Team letter of authenticity dated October 4, 2000 is to “certify that the enclosed jersey is indeed authentic and game worn by the player listed above.” Aptly, “Albert Pujols of the Peoria Chefs” is written as stated. Interestingly, this jersey was auctioned on eBay (for a song) in the year 2000 with the rest of these All-Star shirts by by the Kane County Cougars. This was before Puj
