Lot 1264: Marvelous 33rpm Jazz Record Collection (715+)
This is a marvelous collection of predominately 33rpms but also 10” 45s in picture sleeves (most 1940s and 50s). Overall excellent and even some sealed, these include great first pressings, imports, jazz club and compilations. There's lots of early stuff - the material is from the 1940s to the 1980s but most is from the '50s to the '70s. The '40s to '60s averages VG+, 70s is EX overall and later is mostly mint or close. This all came from a NYC sports columnist whose secret love was jazz. He collected this from the 1960s to present; brand new, from vintage record dealers and as a jazz-collecting club member. Many major artists are here including Louis Armstrong, Red Nichols and Pee Wee Russell on labels like Verve & Blue Note. Amazing cover art. Total of 715+ pieces.
