Lot 611: 1931 Boston Braves Flannel Jersey
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||||
Fabulous flannel is a home jersey with "BRAVES" sewn across the front in faded red on blue felt. Between the first and second buttons from the top is the famous Braves Indian head logo in multicolored felt. A larger Indian head logo in the same colored felt also appears on the left sleeve. Horace Partridge tag in the collar along with the last name, "Laehardt" chain stitched on a swatch. Research indicates that there was no player by this name on the Boston Braves rosters during any year. It is likely that this was a bat boy's jersey because it is rather small in size also. This jersey is complete and 100% original as it was worn in 1931. A very rare style and specimen. EX condition with no rips and only one pin sized hole near the collar. The only other flaw is fading of the colors which can be expected with flannel jerseys that are 80 years old.
