The two men who historians believe had the greatest influence on Mike Tyson in his early career were his trainer, Cus D’Amato and his co-manager Jimmy Jacobs. This lot includes memorabilia from the lives and careers of these two men. The lot includes: 1) A beautiful 7 ? x 9 ?” black & white photograph of Cus D’Amato dated 5/23/85 and signed by the photographer J.J.Fiorino, 2) a metal on wood award plaque to Cus D’Amato dated 5/10/85 for Joe Louis World Boxer Day, 3) an 8 ? x 11 ?” color photograph of D’Amato and Patterson right after the loss to Liston with Clay in the background looking on, 4) a color 11 ? x 17 ?” photograph on wood of Liston standing over the fallen Patterson, 5) a magnificent, framed 13 ? x 18 ?” charcoal drawing of a young Cus D’Amato signed by the artist, 6) a framed newspaper article by Dick Young dated 9/27/62 complimenting the work of Cus D’Amato, 7) a Sports Illustrated Presentation print by Hoban of D’Amato and Patterson dated 1957, 8) Seven "In Loving Memory" funeral programs of Cus D’Amato, 9) a baseball cap signed by the late Edwin Rosario to Jim Jacobs and dated 1/11/84, 10) a beautiful commemorative plate for the Rosario (co-managed by Jim Jacobs) and Ramirez fight, 11) an award plaque to Jim Jacobs dated 10/22/77 by the International Pool Players Club (for arranging significant matches in Atlantic City), 12) a World Boxing Hall Of Fame Plaque to Cus D’Amato dated 10/26/85, 13) a World Boxing Hall Of Fame plaque to Jim Jacobs dated 10/21/89, 14) an award plaque to Jim Jacobs dated 10/13/79 by the Association of Ringside Physicians, 15) a WBA commemorative plate in loving memory of Jim Jacobs dated 1/26/89, 16) two boxing pinbacks of Wilfred Benitez (co-managed by Jim Jacobs, and 17) a souvenir hand weight for the Tyson-Holmes fight of 1/22/88. All are in excellent or better condition.
