Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Roberto Clemente is remembered both as a magnificent ballplayer and a legendary humanitarian. This Louisville Slugger model U1 Roberto Clemente professional model bat is uncracked and shows evidence of heavy use by the Pirates slugger. The bat measures 36.75" in length, weighs 37 oz. and was ordered by Clemente on May 15, 1968; that was the only occasion that model U1 bats of this length were ever ordered by Roberto Clemente. The bat shows red and blue bat rack marks on the barrel, along with a moderate coating of pine tar on the handle. The model number U1 is stamped into the knob, and Clemente's number 21 is written on the knob in red marker. There are also many ball marks all around the barrel. This is a fine collectible and has been graded GU 9.5. LOA.
