ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Berlin Olympics of 1936 were intended by Hitler to be a showcase for Aryan supremacy, but American athletes were a primary force in thwarting the Fuhrer's plan. This is a china vase commemorating the 1936 Olympics. Measuring 8 3/4" tall, it features a gold eagle holding the Olympic rings and reads "Olympia 1936." The bottom is stamped "Echt Tuppach" and has some gold lettering that cannot be made out above the words "Propaganda - Ausschuss der olympischen Spiele 1936." Vase is in excellent condition and makes a very collectible Olympic item.
