This badge is the ribbon/sash worn by Heisman Trophy winner Ernie Davis as co-class marshal of his Syracuse University graduating class in June, 1962. Class marshals were selected for their outstanding contributions to the university. The badge is 40" long, 2" wide, and is Syracuse orange with "MARSHAL" printed in black block letters across the front. The badge comes folded in its original leather binder, and is accompanied by a copy of the Commencement Edition of the Syracuse Daily Orange newspaper dated June 2, 1962, with a photograph of Davis wearing his badge on the front page. This item was obtained directly from Davis' family and comes with an LOA.
