Lot 721: 1950's Ted Kluszewski Game Worn Jacket

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $1,000.00
Winning Bid: $3,020.23
Price Realized: $3,609.18
Auction Date:8/31/2001 9:00 PM EST

This jacket was worn by Klu during the 1960s when he was coaching for the Reds and not while he was a player.
Sure, he went sleeveless on the field, but it gets cold in the dugout in September. Wool letterman style jacket sings "Cincinnati Reds" across chest. Great black leather pocket lining gives the jacket a dangerous edge. "Pro KM Cap [size] 50" tagging in collar gives way to a blank placket whereupon the Reds star penned his three letter moniker, "Klu." Condition is extraordinary-if you happen to be as enormous as Ted was, you could certainly wear it. We'd prefer you just display it however. When you've got something this pretty, you want to keep it in out of the rain.
