Lot 360: Magnificent 1940's Coca-Cola Banner
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Unusual banner about five feet in length hung in the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in Havana. This was for the Coca-Cola Worker's a Credit Union for the employees of Coca-Cola (only) for borrowing money to buy homes or for anything else. This hung inside the plant and is gorgeous. All in red felt with gold tassels at top and bottom, the condition is like new. The lettering is all individually sewn-on, a testament to its quality. Shows the island of Cuba, which is sewn on, in individual pieces of colored felt for each area. On the bottom is "S.A." This meant that this business was an "Anonymous Society". Basically they did not want anyone to know the ownership (mob?) of this firm, which was basically loan sharking.
