ITEM DESCRIPTION

Resplendent set of these commercial trophies are rarely if ever offered as a complete set. In a pure state of excellence -- these lovely figurals appeared in the Spalding catalogues and were sold to teams and leagues to herald their highest achievements. Each is in a beautiful silver plate and are wonderful figurals representing a Batter, Catcher, Infielder, Outfielder and Pitcher. Art deco “Spalding Trophy” logo is emblazoned across each in raised figural lettering. Some of the trophies are engraved, and some are not. For example, the Outfielder is from the 1920 Brooklyn Senior Amateur League (same year as the Brooklyn Dodgers championship), the Infielder is from the 1925 Brooklyn Senior Amateur League, and the Pitcher is from the 1922 Tulsa Oil League (interesting crossover). All are in excellent condition or better except the Batter (rarest and most attractive of them all) has a slightly bent bat (easily fixed and barely noticeable) and the Catcher has a replaced wood base. Take the opportunity to complete an important collection in one fell swoop. They stand about between 16-20” tall.
