This is an incredibly rare advertising poster for the reading of the fight returns from the theatre stage at the Majestic Theatre in Buffalo for the World Heavyweight Championship between Jack Johnson and Jess Willard on April 5, 1915 in Cuba. Willard would stop Johnson in the 26th round to win the title. In this time reading of returns was the practice of the day for events of this magnitude. The poster is 28” x 44” and cardboard. It has a center fold, several edge nicks and stains at the lower right and left corners and the borders. An extremely rare poster dated the exact day as that of the fight.
