Lot 448: 1955 World Champion Brooklyn Dodger Black Bat
ITEM DESCRIPTION
In 1955, after a tense seven-game series, the National League's Brooklyn Dodgers took home victory over their American League NY counterparts, the Yankees. This bat, a model only bestowed upon players and executives of teams that make it to the World Series, commemorates those seven incredible games. In EX condition, this is a black Hillerich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger measuring 35" and weighing 36 oz. On the barrel, in green, "Brooklyn Dodgers World Champions 1955" is written, and surrounding it are facsimile signatures and printed names from the players in gold, with the exception of Walt Alston, whose name appears in green. Bat includes names such as Roy Campanella, Jackie Robinson, and Sandy Koufax. This variety of bat is a World Series exclusive, and a very tough find.
