Bud Wilkinson led the University of Oklahoma to a 47-game winning streak as head coach, starting in 1953 and ending in 1957. After his sports career, however, Wilkinson went on to involve himself in politics, running in 1964 for a U.S. Senate seat. This collection, a set of five (5) Presidential Commendations presented to Wilkinson, all bare the Presidential seal and remain in excellent (EX) condition or better. Signed in '61 by Kennedy, '69 by Nixon, '75 by Ford, and '82 & '84 by Reagan, these documents are items of distinguishment, with signatures rating an average of 8/10. A very interesting and unique set for fans of sports and American politics.
