Lot 217: 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates World Series Trophy
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||||
Picture it: The fourth game in this series is the first of any World Series to be played at night, with spotlights on our two teams. The 1971 World Series matched the defending champion, the Baltimore Orioles, with the Pirates, who flew through winning in seven games. Roberto Clemente was the first Latino player to earn World Series MVP honors. This 1971 Pirates World Series trophy is the kind that was given to players and high level front office personnel. Flagpoles measure from the shortest to tallest, 6"-9" high. Made by Balfour, this one is in EX condition and has a bit of wear to the print on the base.
