UPDATE: The copy listed in the catalog is incorrect for this lot. This IS Ramirez's first homerun baseball after coming back from his suspension. The date and information in the catalog is incorrect. The correct information is that this baseball was hit for a homerun on July 4, 2009. It was the 534th of his career which tied him with Jimmie Foxx (16th) on the all time list. The correct information is listed on the signed affidavit from our consignor. He is the one who caught this baseball.
Monday night, July 20, 2009, and we have it here: THE baseball that LA Dodgers' Manny Ramirez hit just after his suspension, where he made history with his famous 537th home run, passing Mickey Mantle and sliding into 15th place on the career home run list. Ramirez hit a two-run shot off of Cincinnati's Micah Owings, and this Official Major League (Selig) baseball shows use, and for good reason. Special baseball with great story behind it.
