A catcher for the Negro League team the Homestead Grays, baseball historians consider Josh Gibson one of the most talented catchers and hitters in the sport across any league. This card, a 1950-51 Toleteros Rookie Card showing Gibson in mid-swing before a chain-link fence, is a very fine example of a Gibson card that technically grades Good. The card is devoid of creases, but its corners show some rounding, and the surfaces of the front and back show slight wear. Still, these are minor details in such a rare and interesting specimen, and the card presents beautifully.
