Lefty led the league this year in wins (23), complete games (19), shutouts (6) and strike outs (286), so it's little wonder that he was presented this gorgeous award from the men who made his shoes. His left spike was plated in some sort of golden metal and mounted on a wooden base with a large plaque that reads, "Nike Baseball, 1982 M.V.P. Award." A smaller plaque has his name engraved.
