From the 1940’s to the 1960’s, Mel Allen was, and will always be, the voice of the New York Yankees. Here are some appreciations. All awards were given to Mel Allen and originally came from his estate. 1) 1979 National Broadcasters Hall of Fame award. 2) 1950 polished coal microphone given to Allen by WPPA in Pottsville, PA. (has a few chips). 3) 1960 National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Sportscaster of the Year award plaque. 4) 1975 stein given by the Meriden Lions Club. All have Allen's name on them and are EX condition unless noted. Lot also comes with three photos (one signed).
