Lot 901: 1951 Ted Williams All-Star Game Worn Undershirt
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
A chance to own a genuine Williams shirt at a price that will still allow your children to go to college. Soft cotton undershirt with "Tim McAuliffe" collar tagging was the last line of defense between The Kid's powerful frame and an itchy wool Red Sox jersey. Wonderful red stitching in collar features the HOF superstar's full name, "Ted Williams." Wear is very strong; a hundred gallons of his sweat must have been filtered through it during a long, hot season. Originally obtained from a Briggs Stadium bat-boy, who obtained it at the 1951 All-Star Game in Detroit.
