Notes: Rare and desired endorsement for the awarding of the elusive medal of the “Legion of Honor.” It is signed by Napoleon in the rare signature variant “approuve Napoleon” as Emperor of France, on February 10, 1808. The document is in a vintage frame along with a rare example of that very medal, as well as a period etching of Napoleon as Emperor. 17.5 x 21 inches.
