Fearing that a stadium packed with fans would prove too tempting a target for the Japanese bombers (who had hit Pearl Harbor only a month earlier), promoters moved the prestigious college football event to the North Carolina campus of Duke University, where this button was purchased. Button has a tiny bit of rust on back, but otherwise it's NRMT in appearance, as are the attached ribbon and football charm.
