A photograph which captures a young Roger Maris, as he was nearing Babe Ruth’s season home run mark, gazing at the batting legends monument is priceless. The 8 x 10” wire photo is dated Sept 11, 1961 and includes a variety of news clippings attached to the verso, as the image was published on several different occasions. The quality is EX with minimal creasing, mostly in the corners and a nice sharp tonal quality. There is no significant edge wear or damage which makes this great image even more desirable.
