Long after his days at Ohio State University, Jesse Owens received the coveted "Teddy" award, in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt who created the NCAA. The award is given to Varsity letter college athletes who later go on to become distinguished citizens, exemplifying an accomplished life in the service of others.
