Rare mailing envelope with graphic illustration of the Peck and Snyder "Base Ball and Sportsman's Emporium" in New York City. Sent to a firm in Gettysburg PA shortly after the Civil War. EX-MT. Woody Gelman is one of the true father's of vintage card collecting. As the publisher of The Card Collectors Catalogue he brought the "hobby" into modern times. As the creative guru behind Topps from the very beginning he defined the modern baseball card with his birth of the 1952 Topps Baseball Card set. He set the standard in non sports with his work on Mars Attacks! He did it all. Woody passed on in 1978 and things have never been quite the same. All of the material in this section are from the Woody Gelman Collection and will come with a Lelands.com LOA stating such. Most of the pieces are mounted on his original black paper "pages" with his very own handwriting in chalk. They are part of the "big picture" cataloguing of his collection as an American history in graphic design and paper.
