Mays began the 1951 season at AAA Minneapolis Millers of the American Association. While there he played with eventual Hall of Famers Hoyt Wilhelm and Ray Dandridge. This photo of the Say Hey Kid showing off his batting stance measures 6 3/4" x 9 1/2" and is in EX condition. Mays hit a torrid .477 in 35 games with the Millers before being called up to the Majors by the Giants. He ended the 1951 season being named ROY.
