This first edition copy of Donald Barr Chidsey's John the Great, The Times and Life of a Remarkable American, John L. Sullivan has a lengthy inscription from Gene Tunney which reads, " I feel honored to be asked to inscribe this story of a remarkable American, John L. for Charles D. hart, my friend," signed and dated by Gene Tunney on October 7, 1942. The signature written with a steel tip pen in black ink rates a 9 out of 10 for clarity. The book is in EX condition and even includes the beautifully illustrated and colored book jacket which has only some very minor tears around the edges.
