Photo of "first five" HOF pitcher Christy Mathewson shot in 1905. This is the year that he "won the series almost single handed" by pitching three shut out wins in four starts. This print was actually made in the 1920's by Keystone view (stamping on back). It is 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" and is in VG condition with a 1/2" tear along the top edge, a pen mark on the upper right corner and some discoloration along the bottom. Overall in really nice condition given its age. In 1936, Christy Mathewson was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame as one of the famous "First Five" inductees, along with Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson and Honus Wagner.
