Auction Date:9/23/2007 9:00 PM EST

Wire photo of John F. Kennedy, Jr. saluting his deceased father as his flag draped casket passed by during the funeral procession in Washington, D.C. This is one of the most iconic images in history. Photo is 7" x 12" and is in VG-EX condition with a few very minor creases and markings visible. John-John, as he was affectionately known, went on to become a lawyer, journalist, socialite and publisher. Like his father, he died tragically in 1999 in a plane crash while piloting his small Piper Saratoga II HP plane from New Jersey to Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. He was traveling along with his wife and sister-in-law, both of whom also died.
