A great photo shows Locke at the 1949 British Open at St. George's Course which he won in a playoff versus Irishman Harry Bradshaw. Locke was involved in a serious car accident in 1959 which ultimately put an end to his career. He was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1977. He was the first non U.S. or U.K. player to be elected.
